The Program Committee of FT&M6 is pleased to announce that works of women composers will be performed at concerts during the conference. The performances will be in the Recital Hall of the Velma Morrison Performing Arts Center on the campus of Boise State University, and composers of performed works will receive a professional recording of the performance of their work. Performers include members of the Boise State University Music Department and local professional musicians. Works are solicited for solo or chamber ensembles comprised of combinations of: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone), trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, violin, viola, cello, string bass, guitar, percussion, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, piano, harpsichord. Eligibility: Women composers of music of any genre. Guidelines for Submitting Scores: 1. Submissions are limited to 2 works, each of which should be no more than 12 minutes in length. 2. Late submissions cannot be considered. 3. Works which do not conform to the guidelines cannot be considered. 4. Composers of selected scores will attend the conference and introduce their works. All submissions must include the following materials: A. Please provide 1 copy of a sheet of paper indicating the following: (1) your name, institutional affiliation (if any), postal and email addresses, and telephone numbers; (2) the name of the work submitted; (3) the performance medium from the list above; and (4) the duration of the work. B. Please enclose the following (1) 3 copies of each score submitted; and (2) 3 cassette tapes or CD recordings, if available. Names should not appear on the scores, tapes, or CD's. Midi cassettes will be accepted if no performance tape exists. C. For return of your materials, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. D. Scores submitted for consideration must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2001. E. Selection Process: A three-member screening committee will choose up to 25 scores, which will be sent to the ensembles/performers, for the final selection.
