Raised in Carrollton, Georgia, Daniel received is undergraduate degree at Jacksonville State University, studying Music Education. While at Jacksonville State he marched with the Marching Southerners and has participated in The Jacksonville State Chamber Winds, The Wind Ensemble, and The Symphonic Band, as a principal player, The Steel Drum Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Latin Ensemble. Last summer was Daniel’s third summer on staff at Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps, and this winter was his second on staff at Atlanta Quest. Daniel is an active educator having taught at Cleburne County HS (AL), Temple HS (GA), Rome HS (GA), New Manchester HS (GA), Carrollton HS (GA), and East Coweta HS (GA).
Daniel started his formal marching career in 2012 where he played cymbals, at Jacksonville State, then moved to be section leader of the bassline from 2013-2016. In the summer of 2013 he marched in the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps bassline and received the Crossmen percussion Rookie of the Year award. After marching with the Crossmen, Daniel marched with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps during the summers of 2014 and 2015, aging out as section leader of the bassline. During the winters of 2013, 2014, and 2015 Daniel marched in the bassline at Atlanta Quest, Serving as section leader his last year. Daniel has had the privilege of studying under some of the Percussion community’s foremost experts such as Josh Robichaux, Clint Gillespie, Dr. John Cypert, Will Campbell, Dr. Thomas McCutchen, Tim Greene, Joe Hobbs, Eric Ridenour, Alan Sears, Lee Beddis and Michael Mcintosh.
