DaNece Lyman recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in violin performance. She began the violin at the age of eight through the Suzuki method. She comes from a very musical family who instilled in her a love of classical music from an early age. Her past teachers include Starr Ward (Florence, SC), Wilinda Atchley (Raleigh, NC), David Russell (UNC-Charlotte), Alex Woods (BYU), Leeann Morgan (BYU), and Monte Belknap (BYU). Some of DaNece’s favorite chamber music experiences include her participation in the International Music Festival of the Adriatic in Duino, Italy, and sight-reading piano trios with the many cellists and pianists in her family. She is excited for the opportunity to play in the BSU Graduate String Quartet and the opportunity to make beautiful music throughout the next two years.
