Quinn Van Paepeghem

Quinn Van Paepeghem is enjoying his 37 th year in Music Education. He currently directs the Boise State University Vocal Jazz Ensemble, coaches one of three Jazz Combos, and assists in the music education program at Boise State University. He has also conducted University Singers, and the student composers’ reading choir. He received his Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Oregon, and his undergraduate degree from Boise State University. Quinn serves as the Vocal Jazz R & S chair for Idaho ACDA, and is Past President of Idaho ACDA. He was selected Idaho’s “Outstanding Choral Director” by Idaho ACDA in 2014, for “distinguished service to choral music in the state of Idaho”. He was the organizing chair for the 2017 and 2015 NAfME Northwest Honor Jazz Choir. Mr. Van Paepeghem is co-founder of the Treasure Valley Vocal Jazz Camp, held each summer in the Boise valley. Prior to coming to Boise State, he was director of choirs and at Mountain View High School (11 years) in the West Ada School District. Prior to MVHS, Quinn directed the choirs at Bend Senior High School in Bend, Oregon for 19 years, and at Meridian High School. Quinn is an avid jazz guitarist, and heads his own jazz sextet with his wife, Shirley. He has performed with the Cascade Festival of Muisc All-Star Big Band, (Bend, OR), and played for Karrin Allyson, Pete Cristlieb, Alyssa Schwary, Bobby Shew, Rob Verdi and others.
